Westminster Service Corps I (16-17 years) [Year 3 of the Leadership Track] June 16-21Is
God calling you to service this summer? If you have successfully
completed Leadership Development in the past (2007 or before), you may
choose to return for Westminster Service Corps (WSC). Experience CW
behind the scenes! WSC is designed to maximize your servant leadership potential! Spend
about 4- 6 hours each day working on special projects around camp. Be ready to do what it takes. But all
work and no play doesn't fulfill God's plan...enjoy crazy times, silly
fun and deep discussions too, with staff who are here for you. Leadership Development (16-17 years) [Year 2 of the Leadership Track] June 22- July 5
(Note: If you have completed Leadership Development Training, please read on for other options!)For
over 11 years, Camp Westminster's Leadership Development Training has
given youth invaluable skills for the future. If you desire life
challenge, growth in your faith, responsibility and hard work, this is
for you. Learn how to work with children and
community-building techniques. Conquer the Initiatives and High Ropes
Courses and embark on a wilderness trip to incredibly beautiful Algonquin Park (Canada). Cover skills such as packing, map reading, cooking,
paddling, tent setup and more. Above all, be challenged to deeper faith
exploration! Go home with new friends you'll keep in touch with for a
lifetime (just ask some of our alumni...) Guided by a dedicated staff
chosen for their example as servant leaders, they will push you to
strengthen the abilities God gave you.
Sailing II (15-16 years) June 22- July 5 Calling
all campers who have completed Sailing I and acquired your Beginning
Sailing Certificate: come finetune your skills on Higgins Lake with two
more weeks of sailing! You will have an opportunity to enjoy other
traditional camp activities too. Plus, head out for a day on Grand
Traverse Bay, and learn how to sail a traditionally rigged vessel
similar to those which were the mainstay of the nearshore fishing
industry along the Northeast Atlantic coast from the early 1880s.
Includes hands-on participation in the use of scientific gear to
collect, observe and evaluate the waters of this area.
Pre-Leadership Development Training (15 yrs. only) [Year 1 of the Leadership Track] July 6-19 15 year-olds: You have ONE year to do this! Spend time at CW exploring the qualities of a servant leader and spend time on a trek along the Au Sable River. Small group discussion will focus on leadership and how a growing faith can guide life's challenges.
Will you rise to the challenge and embark on the leadership track at
Camp Westminster? Come and see what God has in store for you.
Sailing I (15-16 yrs.) July 6-19 Note: Choose the beginner or intermediate option when you register online. Join
our fun-loving sailing instructors as they set sail on Higgins Lake
each afternoon! For beginner or intermediate sailors who wish to spend more
time on their skills. Embark on a daytrip to Grand Traverse Bay to raise the anchor,
hoist the sails and rotate through crew positions as you learn to sail
a traditionally rigged historic vessel, the Friendship Sloop Liberty. Register EARLY- this camp had a waiting list last year!Westminster Service Corps II (16-17 years) [Year 3 of the Leadership Track] July 20-26Is

What
do you think about global warming? Do you recycle? Ride your bike on
purpose? Your generation is more interested in becoming environmentally
conscious every day. Now come to Camp Westminster and DO something
about it. Last year's camp completed a special "green" project- a new recycling center at Camp Westminster! Small group
discussions and Bible Study will focus on what we
can do to preserve the earth that God has given us- all within the theme of "Handle With Care."
