Memories of Camp We'll Keep

As the leaves begin to turn here at Higgins Lake, I’m still revelling in the awe of the Centennial Weekend!  It was such an honor to host each and every one of you.  I was thrilled to see so many familiar face as well as having the opportunity to meet so many new friends.

The Summer Staff and I would like to thank you all for your messages of thanks and gratitude.  I personally would like to thank each of my staff members for their 100% commitment to the weekend.  Without their hard work and dedication, it wouldn’t have been the success that it was. Hearing all of your stories and seeing the joy that camp brings to you all truly helped them grasp what an amazing experience they are providing for our next generation of campers.

As I look forward, I am deeply honored to carry the vision of those who built this place before us. With a century of memories, growth, and transformation behind us, I now look ahead with a clear sense of responsibility: to preserve what makes camp timeless, while preparing it to serve future generations.

The magnitude of this responsibility is not lost on me. Our camp is more than a place—it is a community where young people discover resilience, belonging, leadership, and joy. To ensure this life-shaping experience remains accessible for the next hundred years, we must continue to strengthen our programs, care for our facilities, and live out our mission with intention.

I know we cannot do this alone. The strength of our Camp Westminster has always come from the people who love it. Your laughter around the campfire, your stories of summers past, your generosity of spirit and support—all of it matters. Whether you join us for a retreat, send your grandchildren for a session in the summer, volunteer your time, or make a financial contribution, your involvement helps ensure that camp will always be here for those who need it most.

Together, we can honor our past and build a future that is just as bright. Thank you for being part of this journey and for walking alongside us as we begin the next 100 years.
