95 Strong! When alumna Sue Kolb picked this theme to put on the beautiful goblets she is making for our 95th Anniversary attendees we never could have imagined how important this would be in the life of Camp Westminster on Higgins Lake today! Whatever your situation may be, please know that we are in prayer for you and your family and will continue to seek God’s peace and protection for the Camp Westminster community in the days and weeks ahead.
As concerns about the coronavirus pandemic grow daily, our desire is to respond with wisdom and discernment using trusted, available resources. Camp Westminster on Higgins Lake places a high priority on camper, staff and guest safety, and we are continuing to monitor the news and reports about COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), along with the World Health Organization, are monitoring COVID-19 cases closely and providing updated guidance to federal, state, and local health officials. We plan to act in accordance with recommendations from from the CDC, the State of Michigan, and the American Camp Association.
First and foremost, we want to assure you that we are planning to run all of our camp programs for the summer as scheduled. With three months until the start of our first camp, we will continue to assess the situation as it evolves and keep you updated. We know that campers will need camp now more than ever. We are planning the best summer ever! Until further notice, you can even register for camp without paying a deposit.
We encourage you to remember that God is in control of this situation, the world, and each of our lives. Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
Thank you for being part of the Camp Westminster community.
Sincerely,
Suzanne G. Bates, Executive Director
