The shade of the trees is ideal. The temperature of the Higgins Lake water is perfect. The diversity of the group of counselors and campers is inspirational. The preservation of nature here gives us hope. But most of all, the smiles on the childrens’ faces, as they enjoy learning about God and life is heartwarming. This is what has happened here every day for the past two weeks of Westminster Service Corps. I never thought it could be so fun to work for so long. This camp has allowed us to grow in leadership and respect as we, a group of high schoolers, make the transition into adulthood. At Camp Westminster, I feel like a different person. I am not afraid to speak or sing out and be myself. I feel this way because of the influence of God and His impact on me and other campers. I have met some of the nicest people in my life here, and have learned a year’s worth of lessons in a mere 2 weeks.
