Adult Arts & Crafts Camp

Updated: Jul 5, 2023

May 18-21, 2023

The Adult Arts & Crafts Camp is getting ready for its third year at Camp Westminster on Higgins Lake! Please plan to arrive Thursday evening (May 18); we will start creating that night and for the following three days.

We have planned some fun classes for this year! New this year:

  1. Fabric collage greeting cards for yourself or as Christmas cards;

  2. Fabric & Mixed Media wall hangings using fabric image transfers and free hand stitching;

  3. Sand cast candles with driftwood pieces or just pressed designs in the sand;

  4. A new quilt design for a group project that will be donated to the Linus Project for kids who have experienced trauma;

  5. Wood & glass outdoor hanging pieces made with marbles, glass globs, and fused glass pieces;

  6. Metalwork candle holders and sculptures, learning to use some new tools to bend and drill holes in metal pieces;

  7. Coasters with decoupage using images from magazines or tissue paper; and,

  8. Nature photography to make a promotional calendar.

Plus some traditional favorites: glass fusing for jewelry pieces, sewing quilt squares, tote bags, table runners, and pillows.

This year we will also be working on a group project preparing a mural on the back wall of the tennis courts. We will outline a design that campers can paint color into this summer as an arts & crafts project. The design will be based on the Higgins Lake area’s animals, bugs, and plants.

There are many fun things to create a fun-filled summer for the campers and ourselves! Won’t you please join us and invite a friend to come too! The food is excellent, the company fabulous, and a weekend up at Camp Westminster, who could ask for anything more?

Plan to arrive Thursday evening ready to get crafting! All meals are provided starting with Friday breakfast through lunch on Sunday. Please bring a sleeping bag, toiletries, and a towel. Your fee covers lodging, meals, and all craft materials.

Please contact retreat leader Karole Sharpe or the camp office with any questions.
