Red Canoes
By Tessa Poag

Tessa Poag is a Michigan native artist, currently painting in the Pacific Northwest. She grew up spending mornings learning to paint with her Grandma Sally, and later went on to study a BFA in Art Education at Western Michigan University. A CW camper and staff alumni, Tessa is thrilled to be sharing her original acrylic painting of the iconic red canoes on the shores of Higgins Lake in celebration of Westminster's 100th anniversary. Throughout her time at Camp she served as a counselor, music and arts coordinator, and out-trip coordinator.

There are many iconic scenes around camp; the road leading down into main camp, the sunlight through the trees in the outdoor chapel, the fireplace in the dining hall, the bell, and our red canoes.  Tessa painted this beautiful piece for Suzanne Bates as a thank you at the end of one summer.  Tessa graciously gave us permission to have the painting professionally reproduced so that we might all have the opportunity to bring Camp Westminster into our homes.

Each print will be done on Cold Press Bright archival paper.  It has a little bit of texture, but nothing that is overwhelming or changes the art.  It will include a 1 inch border to allow of mounting and framing.
